Our Mission

At Distactoe, our goal is to breathe new life into classic board games by combining traditional rules with modern, engaging mechanics. We believe that simple games can be deep, competitive, and visual masterpieces. That is why we built a premium, web-native gaming experience that feels fluid, rewarding, and accessible to everyone.

The Strategic Twist: Fading Turns

Traditional Tic Tac Toe often ends in an unavoidable draw when both players employ optimal moves. To solve this, we introduced the Fading Turns mechanic.

On our board, you can only have a maximum of 3 active pieces (or 4 on the 4x4 board). When you place your fourth piece, your oldest piece on the board fades away! This forces you to plan multiple steps ahead, anticipating not just where you want to align your marks, but also which of your own pieces will disappear next.

Our Technology Stack

Distactoe is built using Astro for lightning-fast static page delivery, combined with a highly optimized React game module for dynamic state management, smooth animations, and real-time gameplay. We use Firebase Firestore to manage peer-to-peer multiplayer lobbies and synchronized game state securely and in real time.
